Iain contributes to modelling and data analysis within the Pathways and Investments team, using insights from research to inform in-house modelling and decarbonisation pathways which achieve net zero carbon emissions in Australia by 2050.
Since joining ClimateWorks in 2017, he has led the development of the Aus-TIMES model, which has been co-developed in partnership with CSIRO. This Partial General Equilibrium (PGE) model focuses on the energy sector (generation, distribution and end use), as well as other sources of emissions across the Australian economy. Iain has also provided climate scenario analysis to inform the strategy of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, in compliance with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Prior to joining ClimateWorks Iain was worked in the energy services sector to improve commercial building energy efficiency, where he specialised in HVAC, refrigeration and renewables. Iain holds a Bachelor of Environments as well as a Master of Environmental Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
